Melton Borough Council has invited applications from insurers to bid for its suite of insurance contracts.
The council is looking for cover in relation to:
The council has taken the decision to negotiate its cover in-house. A spokesman said the council is "not interested" in using a broker.
He said that the council has fared well in the past by negotiating cover direct with its municipal insurers.
Cover will run from 1 July 2003 for a minimum period of five years.
