Royal & SunAlliance's direct insurance arm, More Than, is to start offering counselling to owners of pets who die or get seriously ill as part of its standard pet insurance package.
The psychotherapy will be provided via a 24-hour hotline, and will be staffed by employees trained by the the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
This is the latest competitive more for the insurer which already offers acupuncture and herbal remedies for pets.
