A support package to help brokers comply with regulations that may be imposed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has been launched by Countrywide.
The package - Equip - is available at a low cost and will be constantly developed, reflecting FSA requirements as they become known.
Sales and marketing director Simon Trott said: "We believe the implications of statutory regulation will be significant and far reaching. Current GISC members are already required to meet demanding standards in many areas of their business."
But the current self regulators do not have statutory backing, so the FSA will not automatically be able to authorise companies which have already been authorised by bodies like the GISC.
Developed in partnership with London Guildhall University, the package includes an online staff training programme and a regulatory guide to help businesses adjust with minimum effort.
