TV character Bob the Builder has massively expanded his insurance cover after teaming up with Barney the Dinosaur.

Enfield brokers Marrs Insurance arranged the millions of pounds of new employers' and public liability and extra directors' and officers' cover for Mr Fixit's owners Hit Entertainment.

UK-based Hit needed the cover after it acquired the rights to US company Lyrick, which owns the rights to Barney the Dinosaur, for £125m.

Mark Coffer, managing director of Marrs, said the extended cover had to be arranged quickly because Lyrick's existing insurance went into automatic run-off as a result of the deal.

The insurance was arranged with Ace Europe.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
