Manchester broker JL Manson & Partners is offering international hauliers cover against the huge fines they face if they innocently bring illegal immigrants into the country.
The policy covers hauliers for up to £10,000 per client per claim and legal costs of up to £1,500. The fine for each stowaway found is £2,000.
Peter Stoll, director at JL Manson & Partners, said vehicles could be impounded until the fine was paid, and it was this downtime that could be more crippling than the fine itself.
