Cox Insurance have announced that Chaucer will assume the management of Cox Syndicate 1176 for the 2003 and subsequent years of account.
The transfer forms part of Cox's strategy to focus its resources on its personal lines business.
In addition, Chaucer is continuing to develop its third party syndicate management arm.
Peter Owen, executive chairman of Cox, said: "This transfer completes the restructuring of Commercial Division underwriting operations announced in May of this year, with all remaining commercial activities now in run off."
