According to research, 45% of credit card holders believe purchase protection insurance is the most useful add-on credit card feature.
The Credit Card Awards and ICM, the market research company, found that 20% of UK cardholders thought reward schemes, such as AirMiles and Nectar points, were the most useful add-on features, while 16% selected travel accident insurance as the most useful add-on.
Identity theft assistance was cited by a further 12% of cardholders.
