Accident Assistance has rolled out a credit hire product for commercial vehicle drivers who suffer non-fault accidents.

Commercial Accident Care can provide hauliers with a replacement hire vehicle and recover the cost
from the driver responsible for the accident.

Accident Assistance aims to guide hauliers through the “administrative minefield” that can follow a traffic accident. It can offer help on legal and financial compensation claims for uninsured losses and personal injury, and can recover repair costs and reinstatement of no-claims bonuses.

Repairs can be authorised using the AA's panel of engineers and repairers.

Gerald Grimes, sales director for Accident Assistance, part of GE Financial Insurance, said commercial vehicle drivers had until recently been neglected by the credit hire industry.

He said: “They have a real need for assistance – particularly as a non-fault accident can often directly impair their ability to continue to earn a living.”

Accident Assistance provide credit hire cover for a range of commercial vehicles from light lorries to heavy 38-tonne trucks.
