DAS has launched a new Employment Practices Legal Protection (EPL) policy.

The policy represents a revamp of DAS' Commercial Legal Protection (CLP) cover into an Employment Practices Protection (EPP) product, which DAS has rebranded under the EPL banner. EPL features a 20% premium reduction and the ability to reduce costs by undertaking an online employment practices risk assessment.

DAS head of underwriting Mike Timmons commented: “Many EPP clients also want the wider variety of protections offered by CLP policies. Until now, a separate CLP policy was needed. The new EPL contract removes any possible duplication in cover.

“What we have done is combine the most attractive features of CLP into the EPL policy, taking the opportunity to update wordings for clarity. We have also extended cover in some areas: for example, tax protection can be extended to partners and directors of the policyholder, if requested. Optional covers can be taken to mirror those available on a similar basis under CLP”.

CLP cover remains unchanged for the time-being while existing EPP contracts will mostly be converted to EPL at renewal.
