Direct Line Group has posted a 39% increase in its total income to £2.1bn.

It also posted a 38% increase in its premium income to £1.8bn, after reinsurance.

The direct insurer, which specialises in retail wholesale insurance, increased its combined ratio by 1.4% to 89.4%.

In addition, it underwrote 16% more motor policies on 2001, and 17% more home policies.

Direct Line said its claims handling had jumped by 42%, to an overall claims value of £1.35bn.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
