Online insurer Egg has expanded into household insurance after attracting more than 200,000 quote enquiries for its motor insurance service since August.

It refuses to say how many of those it has converted into policies.

The Prudential-owned insurer has signed up two other underwriters – Folgate and Groupama – in addition to itself, to provide buildings and contents cover.

It aims to assemble a panel of up to six insurers, providing an “all-round comprehensive service under one roof”.

Egg Insure director Phil Ashkuri said customers needed only answer a few quick personal questions to obtain a quote from its supermarket panel of insurers.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
