Endsleigh Insurance Services has become the first company to have its internal assessment and validation systems accredited into the Chartered Insurance Institute's (CII) exams.
The CII has approved Endsleigh's in-house training program, saying it addresses many relevant areas of the Insurance Foundation Certificate (IFC).
All of Endsleigh's staff will now take the Foundation Insurance Test, and on successful completion will receive the full IFC.
The CII thinks this new venture "offers organisations a practical route to develop and motivate staff through a combination of internal training and external qualifications".
This is the first agreement of its kind, but the CII said it is already working with other companies and expects more agreements in future.
