Bermudian insurer Endurance Specialty Holdings has secured a $500m (£310m) letter of credit facility.
Endurance said it would use the facility to attract extra funding for future business activity.
Endurance Specialty Holdings chief financial officer James Kroner said the transaction provided Endurance with the liquidity required to support client needs.
He said: "We're appreciative of the strong level of support and commitment that we received from our many financial partners."
The facility was arranged by JP Morgan Securities and Banc One Capital Markets. Other institutions participating include Bank of Bermuda, Bank of New York, Barclays Bank, Commerzbank, Crédit Lyonnais, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, ING Bank, Lloyds TSB and Merrill Lynch.
