Equity Insurance Group has acquired the general insurance book of Newport broker, Foster Insurance Services.
The firm's owner, Reg Foster, will continue working on the island as an Equity executive, while personal lines and commercial business will be administered by the group's Freshwater and Chandler's Ford centres respectively.
Mike Hutton, Equity branch broking managing director said: "Foster fits the group's regional acquisition criteria. It's a well-established high street-based business in an area earmarked for further development."
