Voting on an EU reinsurance Directive that would harmonise reinsurance regulation across the 25 EU member states has been delayed.

The European Parliament had been scheduled to vote on the Directive today, paving the way for it to be sent to the European Union's Council of Economics & Finance Ministers in June and then passed into law.

But the Directive has been withdrawn from the European Parliament's agenda for the current session because amendments to the Directive had not been translated into all 20 official languages of the European Union.

The next session of the European Parliament is slated for 6 June in Strasbourg.
