Republic of Ireland-based Europa General Insurance is considering a move into the private motor market in Northern Ireland (NI) in 2005
Europa currently writes commercial motor and liability products in both regions.
Head of strategy and business development Tom Mcilduff said the company was currently undergoing a strategic review of its insurance business following the appointment of chief executive Jack Mcllduff.
In addition, the company has appointed John White, formerly of Inter Hannover, as its new head of insurance.
Tom Mcilduff said the company was looking to grow its business but was "a long way off making a firm commitment" to writing private motor business in NI.
