Trade and Industry Secretary Patricia Hewitt has granted a three-month extension to the Competition Commission to complete its report on extended warranties for domestic electrical goods.
The extension was granted to enable the commission to consult on its proposals, which were published on 20 May.
The period for reporting on the monopoly reference will now expire on 30 September 2003.
