Sports Sure boss Gary Stevens finally managed to get his hands on the FA Cup last week, 13 years after his last failed attempt.

The former Spurs and Brighton player appeared in two cup finals during his career before injury forced him to retire.

But he had to wait until the FA Cup came to the Hanover Park Group in south London on a promotional visit from sponsors Axa before he had a chance to touch it.

Sports Sure is one of the 15 schemes run out of Hanover Park. It offers insurance for professional footballers against the loss of their career through accident, injury or illness.

Some of the big names Stevens and partner Sophia Gentle have signed up include Leeds United players Nigel Martyn and Michael Duberry.
