Royal & SunAlliance's Tony Boobier caused his son much embarrassment at the British Damage Management Association (BDMA) convention last week.

While waxing lyrical about the merits of recovery contractors, he admitted he wants his 15-year-old son to become a loss adjuster.

"We've been thinking about his future career path and I think that university should no longer be the be all and end all. I think loss adjusting is an admirable career. Why would he want to do anything else?"

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
