Fitch Ratings has today assigned Fortis Insurance a long-term rating of 'A+'.
The outlook is stable.
In a statement Fitch said that the financial strength of Fortis' insurance activities reflects its very strong capital adequacy in view of its low risk profile, conservative management, consistent strategic orientations and solid profitability.
On the other hand, these strengths are partly offset by the insurance activities' limited, albeit improving, geographic diversification.
