The Motor Insurers' Information Centre (MIIC) has urged fleet operators to submit vehicle data to the Motor Insurance Database (MID) before the 4th EU Motor Insurance Directive comes into force.
Donald Martin, the MIIC's Programme Manager said: "We have been delighted with the response to our communication efforts to date.
The MIIC has launched a new website to advise fleet managers. www.miic.org.uk has received over 500,000 visits to date.
"Some data has already been provided to insurers, and 250,000 fleet vehicles have been loaded. However, with around five million fleet vehicles in the UK there's still a lot to be done by 20 January.
"We recommend that anyone responsible for vehicle fleets, big and small, starts to prepare to supply their insurance data now. Act now and contact your insurance company or broker to find out about loading your vehicle insurance data now."
