Fortis Insurance maintained steady growth through the third quarter of 2004, registering a 6% rise in gross written premium (GWP) to £442m

Chief executive Barry Smith foreshadowed future growth opportunities, saying that growth next year would be led by a new home insurance product.

"In the home market we are leading the pack in terms of full-cycle EDI sales across all the software houses.

"We will be rolling out a new household product in the first quarter of next year."

In the third quarter of 2004 Fortis's motor GWP grew 2% to £296m; household GWP grew 9% to £77m; and its GWP in the small business market increased 23% to £38m.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
