Fortis Insurance Limited (FIL) has secured agreement to develop a new office in Gloucester.

FIL has selected a site in Gloucester Business Park to develop the new office.

The 45,000 square foot office space will be able to house up to 650 staff, with FIL's current 390 staff - in Gloucester - making the move to the newly built office in 2007.

FIL said the development, will be key in providing the capacity to recruit more than 250 jobs over the next two years to meet the growth plans requiring a range of skills including claims handling, call centre roles and commercial underwriting.

Barry Smith, chief executive, Fortis UK: “This is a very positive time for FIL. This new office will house our growing Gloucester teams and is a key part of our overall strategy to build on our current capability, accommodate our ambitious growth plans for the future and service our customers from the UK.”
