Lawyer Frank Maher likes to keep his insurance work close to his heart.

This is because the partner at Liverpool-based Legal Risk has five personally painted ties from an artist in Germany.

His first was the original Legal Risk tie, with Scales of Justice and lighthouse depicting his practice's base of law and risk, but his favourite is the one he calls 'Tie-tanic'.

"This depicts the Titanic sinking in front of the Liverpool office of the ship's owners, the White Star Line, a building designed by the architect of Scotland Yard, Norman Shaw, and showing many similarities of style, coupled with the Scales of Justice," says Maher. He now has five of these specially made ties.

His latest depicts the Lloyd's building and the collapsed The Accident Group (TAG) logo.

"It is all in the best possible taste," he adds. Tietastic.
