Law firm James Chapman & Co has recruited an insurance fraud specialist into its insurance litigation division as part of its plan to develop a fraud unit.
Alison Hart joins the company from law firm Hill Dickinson with 12 years' experience of advising insurers about fraudulent claims.
Hart commented: "Insurance fraud costs in the region of £1bn per year and, not surprisingly, insurers are taking active steps to crack down.
"Insurers are getting much more successful at spotting fraudulent claims and there is a growing demand for specialists who can work with insurers to make sure that fraudsters are caught"
