New Lloyd's internet service company, Fusion Underwriting, wrote £6.2 million in net premium income during the last two weeks of September 1999.

Fusion, an SVB Holdings subsidiary, sells SVB's commercial lines insurance through its fully extranet service. Brokers log on and fill in risk details, Fusion then offers rating and full documentation instantaneously.

Delivery, Fusion's next on-line product, is under wraps but director Bob Page claims the next product is "imminent".

Fusion is marketing the service using CD Rom business cards. The company's staff are equipped with the cards that allow access to a video of a broker and its objectives, and links to the Fusion web site.
