Biba has announced Eric Galbraith as its new chief executive, as predicted by Insurance Times in September. Galbraith takes up the post today.
Biba chairman Hamish Ritchie said: "Eric was the selection board's unanimous choice for the job."
"He fulfilled the key criteria of someone with considerable experience of the industry, who was well known in both the broking and underwriting field and who is passionately committed to the insurance broking business."
"He has an impressive track record. We believe that he will take Biba forward and his personality will enhance Biba and the insurance industry. He will also inspire confidence in the membership and the staff."
Galbraith joined the Marsh Group in 1965 and after 30 years went on to run the Royal Bank of Scotland insurances. He joined Norwich Union three years ago.
