Recent talks with PI broker have not progressed further

Arthur J Gallagher has been in talks with Griffiths & Armour (G&A) about a potential tie-up, Insurance Times has learnt.

According to market sources, Gallagher has held discussions with G&A. However, these talks are believed to have stalled. The US-owned Gallagher is understood to still be on the hunt for acquisitions. A Gallagher spokesman said the company is “always in the market for good people and businesses that fit our culture”.

G&A’s headquarters is in Liverpool, and it also has offices in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin and Guernsey. The company is a member of the network of global insurance brokers, Unison Brokers.

Gallagher bought Lloyd’s broker First City partnership earlier this year – its biggest acquisition in the UK for five years.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
