GE Insurance has won the Lloyds TSB Insurance travel tender, replacing Europe Assistance (EA).

Lloyds TSB Insurance customer management director Neal Jones said Lloyds had gone through the routine three-year tender process, which started in August this year.

"We had a view to leave the book with EA or move it in the first quarter of next year," said Jones. "We decided to bring GE in next year."

He said seven to eight "big players" were involved in the tender. "We covered as wide a market as possible," he said.

Jones said Lloyds TSB had an existing relationship with GE, which provided an accident protection product.
