Brokers makes three new hires from rivals

Giles Insurance Brokers has made additions to its team in Scotland. The three new hires include:

  • Gavin Cairns, who joins the Edinburgh corporate team as an account executive, having spent the past three years with Callaghan Insurance Brokers in Gibraltar. He also worked previously at Heath Lambert, AIG and Aon.
  • Mark Anderson, who also joins in Edinburgh as development executive and will focus on professional indemnity and corporate cross sales. He joins from Marsh’s FinPro division.
  • Graeme Paterson, who returns to Giles after eight years as an account manager at AXA and joins the Ayr office as account executive.

Giles regional managing director Alan McEwan (pictured) said: “I’m really excited by our latest appointments who will really help us accelerate our growth plans. We have a great team, we’re delivering on our plan and I’m delighted that quality guys like these just want to be part of it.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
