Addis is latest senior director to exit Giles

Exit, sign, leave, quit, resign

Giles wholesale managing director Mark Addis has left the consolidator, Insurance Times can reveal.

Addis is understood to be on gardening leave.

A Giles spokesman said the wholesale division is now being run by managing director of underwriting and wholesale Bernard Mageean, together with Duncan Scott and Julian Palmer, who were recent additions to the Ink Insurance senior team.

Addis’s exit is the latest in a string of senior director departures. In September, Giles mergers and acquisitions director Hazel McIntyre left and one month later Ink Insurance managing director Mike Smith also departed.

Addis joined Giles in 2007. He was previously a director at Miller Insurance Services. He joined the Giles board in 2009.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
