Lloyd's director of worldwide markets, Julian James, has been appointed to the GISC board.

Lloyd's director of worldwide markets Julian James has been appointed to the GISC board.

GISC chairman Anthony Howland Jackson announced the appointment earlier today.

Howland Jackson said: "In view of the importance of Lloyd's within the general insurance industry, the board has always believed it appropriate to include a representative from Lloyd's with knowledge and experience of the regulatory and operational issues faced by that community.

"Following the resignation of David Gittings from the board upon his leaving Lloyd's, I am very pleased to welcome Julian James to the board. I am confident he will add great value to our discussions and decision-making."
