Intermediary Alan Bickle, trading as AB Financial Services of Radlett, Hertfordshire, has been fined at a hearing of the GISC disciplinary tribunal.
Bickle admitted failing to deal properly with a customer complaint and failing to respond to GISC's requests for information regarding the complaint. He also admitted failing to respond to queries raised pursuant to a GISC monitoring visit.
The disciplinary tribunal fined AB Financial Services a total of £3,500 and ordered the GISC member to pay £250 in compensation to the customer as well as a contribution towards GISC's costs.
GISC disciplinary tribunal chairman, Roger Eastman, said: "Overall, the tribunal finds Mr Bickle's attitude to his responsibilities as a regulated professional to the regulated body which he joined, to be lamentable."
