Glacier Reinsurance has announced today that it has received its licence from the Swiss Federal Department of Finance to write reinsurance business.
Glacier Re said it had also received confirmation from AM Best that it had been assigned a financial strength rating of A- (excellent) with a stable outlook.
AM Best stated that Glacier Re's prospective risk adjusted capitalisation at the end of 2005 was likely to be excellent and that the rating also reflected the company's prospective operating performance.
