MMA
Broker-only insurer MMA Insurance has appointed Anthony Harris as business development executive.

He joins its business development team for the North East, covering Dumfries and Galloway, Cumbria, Northumberland and North Yorkshire.

Harris has 25 years' experience in general insurance having worked in underwriting, marketing and sales with Royal & SunAlliance.

Advent
Advent Underwriting has appointed Philip Archer-Lock as group actuary. Archer-Lock joins Advent from B & W Deloitte.

He is an Oxford mathematics graduate and Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He was previously with the actuarial firm of Bacon & Woodrow prior to the merger with Deloitte & Touche in 2002.

Congregational & General
Carlo Cavaliere has been appointed as business development director at Congregational & General Insurance.

He has held various business development and senior management positions since joining the company in 1993.

XL Capital
XL Capital announces that John Hume will relinquish his role as chief financial and administrative officer of XL Re to focus entirely on his responsibilities as chief financial officer of XL's global reinsurance operations. He will remain an executive vice president and director of XL Re.

James O'Shaughnessy, formerly of Centre Solutions in Bermuda, will take up the position of chief financial officer for XL. O'Shaughnessy previously worked at Centre Solutions as controller and vice president.

Allen and Allen
Transport specialist Ria Doran joins Allen and Allen where she will be human resources and training manager.

She takes over the role from Giles Ashley, who has been promoted to general manager of Quoteacar.co.uk, the group's online insurance arm.

Folgate Partnership
The Folgate Partnership has appointed Christiaan Pinder as marketing communications manager.

Pinder brings with him nearly ten years' experience in running both sales and marketing campaigns for Lloyds TSB and EULER Trade Indemnity. He has been recruited to focus on the company's branding and communications.

Kennedys
Alan Hart has joined Kennedys as a partner in the construction team. Hart joins from Lawrence Graham where he was a partner and head of the construction group.

In addition, the firm has also made Sushma MacGeoch a partner. MacGeoch, who has been with Kennedys since 1995, handles international construction work, particularly those involving ICC arbitrations.

GAB Robins
GAB Robins has appointed Derek Coles as managing director for loss adjusting. He joins from Barclays Insurance Services where he was managing director. He will be based in the London head office.

Colin Mason joins as finance director.

He was previously with Woolwich, where in an 18-year career he has held a number of senior positions including finance director (insurance services and global home loans) and group risk manager.

CTC Services
CTC Services has appointed Ronald Brighouse at its Madrid office. He has extensive loss adjusting experience from ice storm claims in Canada to hurricane losses in the Caribbean, general property and household claims in the UK to fire claims in Israel and several cases of bank fraud. He speaks six European languages.

AFP Consulting
AFP Consulting has appointed Tracey Stanley to take responsibility for marketing and business development. She joins from The Law Society where she was the Lexcel manager for more than three years.

Mercury
Mercury International Assistance and Claims has appointed Neil Woods as general manager.

He held the position of claims manager since February 2001 and brings to the role a wealth of experience developed during his 12 years within the travel insurance market.

Call 24-7
Call 24-7, the Cheshire-based outsourced claims management company, has appointed Guy Woods as financial director.

Woods, a fully qualified chartered accountant, previously worked for Grant Thornton and Touche Ross, two of the UK's largest accountancy companies.

His role will be to assume responsibility for the financial, IT and HR functions.

Fineos
Fineos Corporation has appointed Isabel Hudson to its board as a non-executive director.

Hudson brings to Fineos more than 20 years of senior-level experience. She currently holds the position of corporate development director with Prudential in the UK.

She is also chair of the board of directors of Prudential International Assurance.

Prior to joining Prudential, Hudson spent over two years as chief financial officer and executive director at Eureko (Amsterdam) based in Paris, with the specific brief to restructure the company, develop its acquisition strategy and prepare it for an initial public offering.

Company focus
Cunningham Lindsey expands in London and Ireland

Judith Little has joined Cunningham Lindsey as London Market business development director.

She joins from Marsh UK, where she was claims business development manager in its risk managed practice.

She also managed the team of claims executives responsible for creating and managing clients' claims programmes.

Also, Seamus Canning has been appointed as area director for Cunningham Lindsey in the Republic of Ireland.

Previously a director with Associated Loss Adjusters in Dublin, he has 17 years' experience in loss adjusting and began his career at Cunningham Hart in London.
