Cooper Gay Group (London) and Cooper Gay & Cashman (Minneapolis, US) have appointed Kirk Bitu as a senior vice president.

He will be in charge of actuarial and financial modelling at Cooper Gay & Cashman.

HSBC Insurance Brokers
HSBC Insurance Brokers continues to strengthen its corporate finance team with the addition of Pauline Marsh and Alex Christians.

Both Marsh and Christians have extensive experience as corporate solicitors.

Miller
Miller Insurance Services (UK) has appointed Bradley Harmsworth as a business development executive at the company's Beckenham office.

Harmsworth joins Miller from Aon (London).

Towergate London Market
Towergate London Market has appointed Peter Thomas as deputy manager in the motor fleet department.

In addition, Mary Lloyd and Zoe Bailey have joined the company's property and liability department as account handlers.

Both Lloyd and Bailey joined the company following the acquisition of Bray Wintour Patis.

Smart & Cook
Smart & Cook insurance brokers has promoted Geoff Kirk to associate director.

Since joining the company in November 2004, Kirk has developed a niche area dealing with large motor fleets.

TEn
AR network, TEn, has appointed Rod Tucker to its broker technician team in Aylesbury.

Tucker joins from Towergate subsidiary, MIA.

Robert Withers has also joined the team as finance and administration manager. Withers was previously working at Country Mutual Insurance Brokers.

Novae Underwriting
Hot on the heels of opening a new Manchester office, Novae Underwriting is strengthening its underwriting team by appointing Paul Cregan as development underwriter - North, and Jacqueline Doherty as assistant underwriter.

Cregan has more than 15 years' experience as a senior financial lines underwriter in Liverpool and Manchester.

Doherty, who has more than 13 years' experience in account management and claims handling, joins from Manchester broker, Richard Thacker, where she specialised in PI for solicitors and accountants.

SVB Holdings
SVB Holdings has appointed Stephen Heming as head of group compliance and a director of the group's underwriting agency.

Heming joins SVB from Illium Managing Agency, where he was compliance officer and company secretary.

AXA Corporate Solutions
AXA Corporate Solutions has announced two new appointments in its Ipswich marine cargo department.

Mike Westgate has taken over from David Rawlings as marine cargo manager. Rawlings will become the company's marine research and development manager.

The underwriting team has been further strengthened by the appointment of Steve Ager who has joined Peter Mayhew as senior development underwriter.

Highway
Peter Goodright is Highway's new head of accident damage operations.

He will oversee the claims functions of the motor insurance business and manage Highway's service providers.

Goodright has spent much of his career with Link Insurance, a UK retail subsidiary of Lloyd's syndicate, Kiln.

InterGlobal
International medical insurance provider, InterGlobal, has appointed Andrew Sandilands as the head of sales and customer relations.

Barbara Lee has been appointed customer services manager and Luke Causton is the new marketing manager.

Loss adjuster

GAB Robins
As part of its strategy to recruit high profile, talented people to deliver the bespoke customer service expected by the Lloyd's and London Market, GAB Robins has announced that Andy Cathersides will be joining its new London market business unit.

Cathersides has more than 30 years' adjusting experience, the past 18 of which have been spent working throughout the Caribbean, Latin America and the US.

He previously worked at Axis (London) where he was the associate director.

Argent Liability Adjusters
Argent Liability Adjusters has recruited Steve Hall to manage its Manchester office.

Hall joins Argent from GAB Robins, where he was the Manchester liability division manager.

He has 14 years' experience across all aspects of liability and personal injury claims.

Berryman
Nottingham law firm Berryman has appointed Jacqueline Lewis as a senior solicitor in its private client team.

Lewis previously spent two years with Sharp & Partners of Nottingham, where she was a partner.

Prior to this she was head of the private client department and partner at Liverpool's Mace & Jones for two years.

She has also worked as a part-time law lecturer at Liverpool's John Moores University.

Holman Fenwick & Willan
Holman Fenwick & Willan has announced that Kapil Dhir has joined the firm as a consultant specialising in corporate and regulatory insurance work.

Dhir's client base ranges from small brokers to large international insurers and multinational companies utilising insurance solutions.

Goodhealth Worldwide
International health insurance provider, Goodhealth Worldwide, has appointed Alison Ritchie as marketing and communications director.

Ritchie will be responsible for co-ordinating marketing and branding across the group's four main international locations, as well as its domestic UK medical insurance business.

She was previously head of digital communications at Abbey and, prior to that, communications manager for group risk business at Scottish Equitable.

As Goodhealth's marketing and communications director, Ritchie says she plans to bring an integrated communications focus to the entire group.

"We are going to develop the brand within the health care sector through both broker and digital activity and by delivering consistency of message and service worldwide," she says.
