Broke

Cooper Gay
Cooper Gay has appointed Paul Cullum and Heidi Wittbold to Cooper Gay Global Risks in London. Both will work alongside Steve Jackson, managing director of the non-marine division, to build Global Risks' prescence worldwide.

Cullum joins from Euclidian Underwriting, where he was senior property underwriter.

Wittbold joins from Liberty Mutual in New York, where she was account manager for major commercial markets.

Aon
Aon has appointed Michael Reynolds as chief financial officer of Aon Re International (ARI) and Aon Re UK. This is in addition to his current role as chief financial officer for Aon Captive Services.

Reynolds, who joined Aon in 1996, will also join the boards of ARI and Aon Re UK.

Marsh
Marsh has appointed Ron Hayes to lead its risk trading practice, the firm's newly-created specialist business unit for small and medium-sized businesses.

Hayes has been with Marsh and its predecessor firms since 1983. Previously working as head of European retail placement since 2001, he will retain his placement responsibilities alongside his new role.

Gresham
Graham Underwood has joined Gresham as marine manager from Manning Williams.

Underwood's responsibilities will include servicing the London end of the company's newly formed New York marine team.

AH
Agnew Higgins Pickering & Co (AHP), the London-based specialist natural resources broker, has appointed Angus Pearson and Jonathan Smith to its board subject to FSA approval.

Pearson, who heads up AHP's non-marine team and Smith, who leads the marine team, have been senior members of the company since its formation in 1998.

Budget
Budget has appointed Tom Cooper as associate director for internet business, focusing on the ongoing development and delivery of its e-commerce strategy.

Previously associate director, product development, with particular responsibility for the home product, Cooper joined Budget as part of the Dial Direct acquisition in 2000.

Heath Lambert
Heath Lambert Insurance Services (HLIS), Heath Lambert's personal lines division, has appointed Jason Ware as associate director for business development.

Ware, who joined HLIS in 1998, was previously responsible for e-commerce. In his new role he will develop the e-commerce and motorcycle business at HLIS's main personal lines contact centre in Wakefield.

John Tortell has also been appointed as general manager of Heath Lambert Insurance Management's new captives operation in Malta.

Tortell is the owner of Maltese broker Jatco, which has entered into a joint venture with Heath Lambert and Sisiell to launch the operation.

Oval
Oval has appointed Stephen Foot and Ian Smith to the management team at its Nottingham office.

Both join from Alexander Forbes, where Foot was regional director and Smith was branch director.

Towergat
Towergate Partnership has appointed Kam Nandhra as divisional marketing director for the North region.

Nandhra has over 14 years' experience in financial services marketing and was most recently head of customer development at RIAS.

Link/Zenith
Jacci Taylor has been appointed as head of business transformation for the Link and Zenith group.

Taylor joins from Brownsword, where she was director of operations and part of the team that successfully engineered the sale of the business to Capita.

QB
QBE European Operations has appointed Paul Moss to the new role of head of claims.

He will assist the chief underwriting officer Peter Grove in overseeing key claims issues and strategy, as well as ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach to large claims.

Moss, who joined QBE in 2000, was previously claims director on its European commercial division management board prior to this move into a broader role.

Singer & Friedlande
Singer & Friedlander Insurance Finance (SFIF) has appointed a new team for its Dorking operation.

Neil Jenkinson joins as head of sales from Close Brothers, where he previously worked with SFIF managing director Bob Darling.

Also joining the team are Mark Winder, with SFIF since 1998 and now promoted to head of strategic relationships, and Bonnita Apperley, who joined the firm when it acquired Benfield Premium Finance in 2003, now promoted to head of marketing.

IUA
Dan Glaser and Barry McConway were both appointed to the board of the International Underwriting Association at its recent general meeting.

Glaser is managing director of AIG Europe (UK) as well as AIG vice president, foreign general insurance.

McConway is director of marine commercial insurances at Royal & SunAlliance.

Hitachi Capita
Hitachi Capital has appointed David Swift to the new role of group head of marketing.

Swift, who will be based in Leeds, previously worked at HBOS.

Paul Weigal
Paul Weigall has been appointed as regional development manager of Bupa International.

Weigall joined Bupa in November 2000 as a hospital contracts manager based in Staines, and has latterly been responsible for managing relationships with consultants.

Prior to joining Bupa Weigall worked in the banking and finance sector for both NatWest and Lombard North Central.

Speaking of his new appointment Weigall said: "As well as ensuring the growth of the existing business, my role will involve developing a strategy for Bupa International to become a leading healthcare provider in new markets, where there are large levels of expatriates and high net worth individuals seeking high quality of cover."

A keen sport fan, Weigall enjoys golf and keeping fit.
