Budget

The Budget Group of Companies has appointed Sheryl Hope as associate director, human resources

Based in Peterborough, Hope will manage a central team of 17, which will include a specialist recruitment team, internal communications, human resources best practice and rewards and benefits.

The Regency Group

Nicola Pennells has been appointed as IT manager for warranty and insurance scheme provider The Regency Group. Pennells previously worked for The Amber Chemical Company as IT systems manager. Philip Hillman has also joined The Regency Group as website administrator.

Citybond Suretravel

Travel insurance provider Citybond Suretravel has made two new board appointments. Greg Lawson, who joined the company in January 2004, has been promoted to corporate broking director. Louise Bryan has been appointed business development director. Bryan has 20 years' experience in the travel insurance industry and is also responsible for training.

INSURERS

Aon

Aon has appointed Anka Taylor as a director and James Boulton as legal and technical adviser. Both join Aon's transaction liability unit. For the past 10 years Taylor has worked as a senior underwriter at Hiscox. Boulton is a qualified solicitor, having practised at the bar in Victoria, Australia, and has two years' further mergers and acquisitions experience.

HealthSure

HealthSure has appointed a new head of operational delivery. Diane Boon takes responsibility for operations, processes and health and safety throughout the business. Boon has spent 27 years working in customer service and commercial development management.

Legal & General

Legal & General has appointed Julie Robinson as customer director. Robinson joins from Virgin Atlantic, where she worked for 20 years, latterly in the role of director of customer services.

OTHER

Deloitte

Deloitte has appointed Darren Michaels to its actuarial department as director. Michaels' role will be leading the asbestos pollution and health hazards consultancy team. Prior to joining Deloitte, he has worked for a number of consultancies and spent four years as a consultant at Tillinghast.

ISS Damage Control

Disaster recovery specialist ISS Damage Control has appointed Allan Jones as project manager for the South. Jones is a qualified electrical engineer and a British Damage Management Association qualified technician. He has 12 years' experience in disaster recovery. He started his career in the Royal Navy.

Harpers UK

Motor engineering assessing company Harpers UK has appointed Derek May as engineering manager. May has 34 years' engineering experience.

Tillinghast

The Tillinghast business of Towers Perrin has appointed Dan Oprescu as a senior consultant in its insurance and financial services practice. Based in London, Oprescu will focus on risk modelling for capital adequacy and solvency, as well as asset management solutions for insurance companies and pension funds.

Profile - Nicky Geddes

Household insurance specialist Nicky Geddes has joined Stuart Alexander's Southampton office as a private client manager.

Geddes has 20 years' experience in the insurance industry. She previously worked on the customer services team at Boncaster in Southampton.

Geddes said: "I really enjoy helping clients and dealing with people. I moved to Stuart Alexander because my previous company was becoming more call centre-based. That's becoming more widespread in the industry, but I wanted to work for a broker with a friendlier and more individual approach."

Outside of work, Geddes plays golf and enjoys spending time with her family.
