Clarke RoxburghMidlands-based broker group Clarke Roxburgh has appointed John Horton as an account executive in its property division.Horton will be based at Clarke Roxburgh's Worcester office. He has 40 years' experience in the insurance industry, mainly in the company market, and joins from a local broker.

Heath LambertSteve Bartlett has been appointed as managing director of the wholesale division at Heath Lambert Insurance Services.Based in Horsham, the division specialises in providing insurance schemes to mortgage lenders.Bartlett joined Heath Lambert Insurance Services in 1995 as marketing director, moving from Orion Insurance in Folkestone.

Marsh Marsh has promoted Jason Wells to the role of national development director of its corporate client practice (CCP).Based in the company's Reading office, Wells will lead Marsh's UK-wide CCP business development team and oversee the practice's sales strategy.He joined Marsh in 1996 and was a business development executive for five years. In 2001, he was promoted to business development director for the South.

Riverbourne GroupCorporate insurance broker Riverbourne Group has appointed Bill Canal as administration manager at its Leeds office. Canal will be responsible for managing the administration and compliance issues of the company's business derived from the Northern region. Canal has 25 years' experience in the industry gained from national and provincial broking roles. He joins Riverbourne from JLT, where he was regional administration manager.

Alexander ForbesAlexander Forbes has appointed Mark Nicholls to the board as a non-executive director.Having qualified as a solicitor with Linklaters, Nicholls became head of corporate finance at SG Warburg and in 1995 became a main board director of the SG Warburg Group. More recently he was managing director of the Royal Bank of Scotland's private equity group.He is currently deputy chairman of Venture Production and a non-executive director of Bovis Homes Group, the Portman Building Society and the City of London Investment Trust.

Pavilion Insurance ManagementPavilion Insurance Management has appointed Peter Aston as customer service manager. Aston will be heading a team of ten and has eight years' experience in various customer service management roles. Prior to joining Pavilion Insurance Management, he was employed by Walsh Western International as UK customer service manager. He has also had several years of experience working within the general insurance industry, having worked for Hill House Hammond Direct. He was then transferred to Norwich Union Direct to co-ordinate the transition of customer information from two other divisions on to the new Norwich Union Direct operating system.

RL Davison & CoRL Davison & Co has appointed Andy Brooks, Joe Hantson and Richard Stiling as associate directors of the Lloyd's broking company.Brooks' role is motor administration manager and retail clients account executive.Hantson's role continues as motor division broker, with responsibility for new business.Stiling is responsible for the management of the commercial administration department and is also involved in broking.

Lark InsuranceLark Insurance has appointed Guy Erskine-Naylor as introducer manager. Erskine-Naylor will be responsible for managing Lark's existing introducer network and recruiting new introducers. He joins Lark from AXA Insurance's marketing team, where he worked with corporate partners and on direct commercial business.

Ace European GroupAce European Group has appointed Will Mussett to the position of commercial underwriter in its Manchester team.Mussett joins Ace following positions with Prudential and Independent. Joining Alison Barrow's team, he will underwrite commercial property and casualty risks within the region.

Allianz CornhillMark Hadfield has been appointed national broker manager for Allianz Cornhill commercial. In his new role, Hadfield will be managing the national broker channel across the UK for commercial lines, with much of his day-to-day work revolving around relationship management. His previous role was City development manager for Allianz Cornhill commercial in London. He formerly worked for Independent Insurance and joined Allianz Cornhill in 1999 as senior business developer in the City.

GE Financial InsuranceGE Financial Insurance, a provider of payment protection insurance, has appointed David Lane as regional manager, Western Europe and Redmond McDonnell as general manager, Ireland.In his new role, Lane is responsible for advancing the company's payment protection insurance business across the region. He joined GE Financial Insurance in 2001 as general manager, Ireland. Prior to joining GE Financial Insurance, he spent five years with Transamerica Insurance Finance Co (Europe), where he set up and ran its Irish branch.McDonnell succeeds David Lane as general manager, Ireland, and is responsible for building the payment protection insurance business in Ireland. McDonnell joined GE Financial Insurance in 1998 as business development manager. He has 20 years' experience in the UK and Irish insurance industries.

HCC Insurance HoldingsHCC Insurance Holdings has appointed Walter Duer to its board of directors.Duer recently retired as a managing partner of KPMG's business integration and divestiture practice. His 36-year career at KPMG has been largely in taxation and the insurance industry and he was a member of the firm's board of directors, the board's finance subcommittee and a KPMG Foundation trustee.Duer will also be a member of HCC's audit committee.

AIG EuropeAIG Europe (UK) has appointed Bryan Tedford as US casualty manager for AIG Europe. Tedford will be based in London and will be responsible for underwriting casualty programmes, developing broker and risk manager relations, as well as providing servicing and risk management expertise to UK and Irish AIG member company clients with US exposures. Since 2000, Tedford has held a number of underwriting and risk management-related roles within AIG member companies, based in both the US and UK.

CNA CNA has appointed Robert Skilbeck to its Manchester team as casualty underwriter. Skilbeck previously worked as a commercial underwriter for Allianz Cornhill and, prior to that, as an account executive at Jardine Lloyd Thompson.Gareth Machin has joined CNA's Manchester team as financial lines underwriter. Machin previously worked for Chubb in Manchester and Leeds and Royal & SunAlliance in Manchester.

DigiLogDigiLog has appointed Matt Franklin as business projects manager. Franklin is a former police officer. He has spent three years developing the DigiLog claims validation solution in his former role as a fraud manager with motor insurer Highway. Franklin has worked on industry fraud initiatives with the ABI's anti-fraud committee, IFIG and the insurance hunter steering group.In his new role, he will oversee new and existing project developments for both in-house and outsourced solutions customers.

Grant ThorntonBusiness and financial adviser Grant Thornton has appointed one partner and three managers to its forensic and investigation services. Richard Indge joins the firm as a partner within the London office and Rob Hampson, Rachel Briggs and Paul Bennett join the firm's North and Midlands teams.Indge entered the loss adjusting profession in 1992. In 1995, he joined the forensic practice of Ernst & Young. He became head of the UK firm's northern global investigations and dispute advisory practice in early 2002. Bennett joins Grant Thornton from Deloitte as a senior manager in the Birmingham office. He has experience of a range of forensic assignments, acting for both claimants and defendants.Hampson and Briggs join Grant Thornton from Deloitte as managers within the Manchester office. Both are experienced forensic specialists with a range of experience in working on civil and fraud investigations.

NIG expands Scots sale teamNIG has appointed William Simpson as regional sales executive for personal lines and Gwenda Watt as regional account executive for the Scottish region. Simpson has undertaken a number of roles in the insurance industry, including working for a broker. Prior to that he was a business account executive for NU PLANet, which involved providing a profitable return on broker accounts. He has 12 years' experience in the personal insurance market. Watt joins the company from Legal and General, with 13 years' experience in the insurance market. Her new roles of broker development and account management will involve building upon existing relationships within the Scottish broker market, assessing new development opportunities, as well as performance management and business planning.
