Miller Insurance ServicesMiller Insurance Services has appointed a new medical malpractice team. The five-strong team headed by Clive Wilson was previously at Clayton Risk Financing Services (CRFS).The new team is: Clive Wilson, director; Mark Popple, director; Graeme Lynch; Melanie Mode and Lisa O'Connell.The team specialises in medical malpractice and professional liability cover for defence bodies, pools and mutuals based principally in the UK and Canada. Its existing book of business has transferred to Miller, along with the team.

Heath LambertHeath Lambert has appointed Debra Lee-Moore as a divisional director, internal risk management, in its London head office.Moore's role will encompass FSA compliance and internal auditing and risk management. Moore has spent 14 years with the Guardian Royal Exchange, dealing primarily with compliance issues across all the company's activities, ranging from investment management to general insurance worldwide.

Argyll InsuranceAndrew Steele has joined Sussex-based Argyll Insurance as group solicitor. Steele formerly worked with solicitors Malcolm Wilson and Cobby and has worked in legal practice in Sussex throughout his career.

Beaufort Underwriting AgencyFollowing the acquisition of Ensign Managing Agency and its name-change to Beaufort Underwriting Agency, there have been several changes to the agency board.Graham Tuck has been appointed finance director. Derek Eales, the deputy underwriter of Syndicate 318, has been appointed executive director. Paul Langridge has been appointed as compliance officer and company secretary.

AceAce Europe has appointed John Mather as regional underwriting director for its accident and health and consumer lines business. Mather has previously worked for AIG, GE and Aon.

BritBrit Insurance Holdings has appointed Peter Hazell and Michael Smith as non-executive directors.Hazell, whose appointment takes effect on 1 April, is chairman of Argent Group and a member of the Competition Commission. He is a non-executive director of UK Coal and chairman of its audit committee. He was previously UK managing partner of Pricewat-erhouseCoopers. He will be joining the audit committee of Brit. Smith is a former senior partner of Titmuss Sainer & Webb, an international law firm where he specialised in the Lloyd's insurance market. His current roles include non-executive appointments at Randall & Quilter and Cavell.

HCCRichard Webb and Brian Deane have joined HCC Diversified Financial Products, HCC Insurance Holdings' London based underwriting agency specialising in professional indemnity insurance in the EU.Webb has 17 years' industry experience and Deane has 20 years' experience in underwriting professional indemnity in the London market.

Premium FirstPremium finance company Premium First has expanded its Belfast- based team with two appointments.Roisin Waterson and Muriel Strain have joined Premium First as commercial underwriters. Both will be responsible for underwriting commercial finance applications within Premium First. Waterson was previously with the Bank of Scotland (Ireland) and Strain spent 28 years at NIIB.

ForbesForbes has made four appointments within the defendant insurer department. Kate Humpston has joined the department after working at a Manchester law firm where she became an associate. She specialises in employers' liability claims, with a particular interest in disease litigation. Asema Natha is a newly qualified solicitor who trained in Manchester. She will concentrate on public liability claims at Forbes.Lindsey Battersby previously worked for a large North West firm in its personal injury department. Battersby will also assist on public liability claims.Elizabeth Lowe joined Forbes two years ago and has been promoted to a paralegal.

DLADLA has appointed Julia Graham to head up risk management. Graham, who was formerly group operational risk manager at Royal & SunAlliance, has taken over the post from Clive Pracy, who retired last year.Graham has more than 25 years' industry experience. While at Royal & SunAlliance, she was involved in designing and implementing risk management assessments and designing the framework for business continuity.

InsurE-comInsurE-com has appointed Peter Mroch as its head of sales, with responsibility for directing the company's sales strategy.Mroch, who will join the InsurE-com management board, will also have responsibility for new business, telesales and account management teams. He has spent the last 15 years working in the software industry, including time spent with Cedar and Fraser Williams.

Corporate Risk SystemsCorporate Risk Systems, the insurance service provider, has appointed John Watson as sales director. Watson has 21 years' industry experience and has held a variety of senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland. He is based at Corporate Risk Systems' Midlands office.

ISS Damage ControlThe ISS Damage Control Group has appointed Rodger Arneil as international business development director.Arneil has worked for the disaster recovery company for more than two years. His new role includes responsibilities for establishing ISS in new business and other markets including Southern Europe and France.

ABS Accident SolutionsTina Jones has joined the finance department of ABS Accident Solutions as financial accountant. Jones previously worked for a small accountancy practice, where she has worked for the last three years since graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in accounting and finance.

AMIIThe Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) has elected Stephen Walker as its new chairman. Walker set up Brighton-based Medical Insurance Services in 1995 following several years with BUPA as an area sales manager.AMII also elected Martin Howell of Bedford-based Medisearch on to the committee. Other committee members elected were Sue Smith, vice chair; Hazel Gregory, association secretary; Paula Aitken, membership secretary; Phil Taylor, treasurer; Paul Brantingham and Michael Payne.

Zurich Risk ServicesZurich Risk Services has appointed Huw Andrews as senior risk consultant for its health and safety risk practice.Andrews has 20 years' experience as a health and safety practitioner in industrial sectors including manufacturing, engineering, facilities management, brewing, civil engineering and construction.

The FSAThe FSA has appointed three new managing directors. They will also be members of the FSA board.Hector Sants joins from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) to become managing director, wholesale and institutional markets. Clive Briault is promoted to managing director, retail markets. Currently director of prudential standards, he will have responsibility for the FSA's consumer agenda, including regulation of firms or groups whose business is predominantly at the retail end of the market, including insurers, high street banks, mortgage lenders and retail intermediaries.David Kenmir is promoted to managing director, regulatory services. Currently director of investment firms at the FSA, he will lead in the provision of a range of services to consumers, existing firms and firms seeking authorisation.Submissions
