Allianz Cornhill Legal Protection
Allianz Cornhill Legal Protection has appointed David Vine as business development manager.

Vine has spent 23 years in the insurance industry working for Allianz Cornhill, most recently as development manager at the insurer's Bristol office.

Groupama
Groupama Insurances has appointed a new finance director for its UK operations. Roy Sampson moves up from his current role within the company as group accountant.

Sampson trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young where he was involved in work for various insurance clients including Lloyd's brokers and syndicates. In 1984, he joined Hansa Re & Marine UK as chief accountant before being appointed to the board in 1992. Sampson joined GAN Insurance in 1996 and on the formation of Groupama Insurances in 1999 became group accountant.

UnumProvident
Income protection provider UnumProvident has appointed Dr David Cook as company medical officer.

Previously, Cook gained wide experience in hospital medicine before specialising in occupational medicine from 1990 onwards.

Since then, he has worked in a variety of industries and locations including his most recent post in Georgia where he provided western-standard occupational health advice and medical care.

CUAL
Christophe Chandler has been promoted to class underwriter in the reinsurance business group of Catlin Underwriting Agencies Limited (CUAL). He will underwrite non-marine excess of loss reinsurance business, including property catastrophe reinsurance, on behalf of Syndicate 2003 at Lloyd's, which is managed by CUAL. He had previously been an underwriting assistant with CUAL.

AXA Assistance UK
Jésus Carmona has been appointed managing director of AXA Assistance UK.

Carmona, previously chief executive of AXA Assistance Argentina, has been working for the AXA Assistance Group for 14 years. He replaces Elena Miguens, who now heads up AXA Assistance's Canadian Operation.

Brit Insurance Holdings
Brit Insurance Holdings announces that Mark Cassidy has taken up the position of self-funded medical expenses underwriter, located at Box 190a in Lloyd's. He will be writing US specific and aggregate medical insurance.

With over 20 years' experience in the UK insurance market, he previously was the underwriter of Lloyd's Syndicate 5000.

NFU Mutual
Angus Paterson has been promoted to group compliance manager at NFU Mutual.

He has worked at the insurer for more than 20 years, most recently as life compliance officer based at the company's Ryon Hill offices.

insurE-com
InsurE-com has appointed Iain Brogden as insurer account manager. Brogden has 15 years' insurance industry experience in the composite market.

Brogden most recently worked at Quote & Buy as product development manager, with responsibility for developing its panel of insurers and insurance products.

He also spent 12 years with GA/CGU (now Aviva), holding product and account management positions.

Markerstudy
Markerstudy group has appointed Jim Costin to its board. Costin, who was insurance supervisor of the Financial Services Commission of Gibraltar, has been a lifelong UK civil servant in the DTI. He left to take responsibility for the establishment of parallel insurance regulation matching UK standards.

Belvedere Insurance Services
Belvedere Insurance Services has appointed Bob Williams as business development manager.

He has more than 39 years' experience in the insurance profession, working with Royal and, after its merger, with Royal & SunAlliance.

For the past six years he has been working as regional business development manager, based in Leeds.

He has gained substantial experience in the areas of underwriting, business development and project management. His work has taken him to many locations around the UK.

Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw
The insurance and reinsurance group at legal firm Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw has appointed senior insurance lawyer Jane Scott.

She joins the Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP team based in the Lloyd's building from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, where she specialised in assisting underwriters in the financial institutions sector.

Litigation Control Limited
City-based Litigation Control Limited (LCL), the principal operating company within the Litigation Control Group Ltd (LCGL), has made two new senior appointments.

Anson Game, formerly head of the insurance and reinsurance group at solicitors Pinsent Curtis Biddle where he was a partner, has joined LCL as claims director.

Also joining LCL is Peter Dixon-Clarke who will be responsible for special projects.

Dixon-Clarke, an accountant, was formerly a member of the senior management team of the Harvey Bowring division at Amlin.

Hill Dickinson
Law firm Hill Dickinson has made two new appointments in its London office to strengthen the firm's professional indemnity department.

Dileep Pisharody joins as an assistant solicitor bringing experience in construction-related professional indemnity and insurance litigation, insolvency and commercial litigation, gleaned from his time with PricewaterhouseCoopers and more recently, Hextalls.

Simon Stanley joins the team with a wealth of experience. His varied career has taken in practising at the Bar and running the office of a front bench spokesman at the House of Commons, before settling into private practice at Levenes.

Joint Hull Committee
William Beveridge has been appointed Joint Hull Committee chairman. The outgoing chairman, Simon Beale, will remain on the committee.

Beveridge is currently the hull underwriter and syndicate deputy underwriter of XL London Market Syndicate 1209 at Lloyd's.

RL Davison announces the appointment of D. Owen Davies and Steve Mynott as associate directors of the Lloyd's broker , as from 1 July.

Both Davies and Mynott have many years experience within the company, with important roles respectively in the commercial and motor fleet divisions.

RL Davison has been at the forefront of developments in this market for over 25 years, providing cover for all types of motor fleet.
