AIG Europe
AIG Europe (UK) has appointed Neil Evans as corporate manager of crisis management. He will be responsible for the overall development of the crisis management insurance portfolio in the UK and Ireland.

Evans joined Landmark Insurance Company, a member of AIG, in 1994 and held several roles within business development and marketing. In 2000 he transferred to AIG Europe's crisis management division as regional underwriter. Prior to joining AIG, he worked in various roles for broker Aon.

Chubb Insurance
David Casement has joined Chubb Commercial Insurance, a division of Chubb Insurance Company of Europe (Chubb), as its new general counsel.

Most recently an insurance lawyer at CMS Cameron McKenna in London, Casement qualified as a solicitor in 1995. He has wide experience in both contentious and non-contentious insurance issues, having practised in the London market for six years.

Ace
Ace has appointed Paul Crawford as marine cargo underwriter based in London. He joins from Royal & SunAlliance Marine and has much experience in structuring multinational programmes and underwriting marine cargo business, along with property and casualty classes, including marine consequential loss on international construction projects.

XL London Market
XL London Market, an XL Capital company, has appointed David Whiter as senior vice president for XL's aviation business.

He will remain senior class underwriter for Syndicate 1209.

Allianz Cornhill
Jason Potter has been appointed Allianz Cornhill e-trading manager for commercial lines.Prior to his appointment, Potter was sales management consultant within Allianz Cornhill's head office sales support team and before that, senior business developer in London.

Beazley
Lloyd's managing agent Beazley has appointed Paul Dawson as specialist energy underwriter to marine team at Syndicate 2626/623.

He has more than 19 years' experience, the majority within the Lloyd's Market. He was energy underwriter at Janson Green prior to joining Aeigs managing agency as deputy underwriter in 2000. He has been a member of the Joint Rig Committee since 1997.

BDML Connect
Portsmouth-based group BDML (Holdings) has appointed Paul Cosh as the new managing director of its subsidiary BDML Connect.

Sandy Dunn, one of the four founding directors and current managing director of BDML Connect, will move from this role to become chairman and chief executive.

Cosh founded Century Insurance Centres in 1990 and, when it was acquired by Budget in 1999, remained with Budget having responsibility for the branch network, business development and product development. He ended his employment with Budget last summer and has been working as a consultant with a number of companies.

Jefferies & Co
Solicitor Suzannah Sutton has moved from Mendlesons to South Manchester personal injury specialist Jefferies & Co.

Gaston Whybrew
Colchester-based law firm Gaston Whybrew has appointed Simon Tilling as assistant solicitor.

He was formerly with Merricks and has also worked at Eagle Star.

Berrymans Lace Mawer
Berrymans Lace Mawer announces the appointment of eight new partners. The appointments bring the national partnership total to 79.

The new partners are: Manchester: Richard Cliff, Mike Dobson, Gary Lewis, Vicky McCarthy and Abigail Whittle (personal injury).

London: Tim Smith (professional indemnity) and Martin Watson (marine).

Liverpool: Sarah Mansfield (housing and environmental).

Capita Insurance services
Capita Insurance Services has appointed Lee Gladwell to the management board in the newly-created position of business development director. He joins from AXA where he was director of corporate partnerships.

Gladwell has more than 20 years' insurance experience, most of it gained at Commercial Union (now part of Aviva), in a number of senior roles including management of branch operations, the systems development division, and large-scale change programmes.

Crawford & Company
Crawford & Company has appointed David Blackburn as quality assurance manager for the Central Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.

Blackburn, a loss adjuster, has been with Crawford for many years, most recently as technical director in Indonesia. In this newly-created position, he will travel around the region to develop and roll out a formalised quality control and assurance programme.

PYV Group
Hilary Wilkins, a former main board marketing director of Domestic & General, has joined PYV Group, the Ofex-listed financial services organisation, as chief operating officer.

Working closely with group chairman, Geoffrey Pointon, Wilkins will be based at the company's City head office in St Mary at Hill.

Wilkins' previous senior level appointments have included acting as managing director of Jardine Commercial Risks and as executive director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.company focus

NIG expands product team
NIG has strengthened the product development team in its commercial division, with three new appointments.

Phelim Browne joins as product manager. He has worked in underwriting, marketing and product development roles for a number of companies, most recently AIG.

Paul Jenkins joins as product manager. Previously he worked at Norwich Union, where he was development executive. He has more than 23 years' experience of the insurance industry.

Kevan Aubrey joins as commercial segmentation manager. Previously he worked at Norwich Union.
