Loss Recovery Group
Simon Trott, former sales and marketing director of Misys Insurance Management, has joined the Loss Recovery Group as sales director with the aim of spearheading the expansion of its UK broker base.

NIG
NIG has appointed John Setterfield as business manager for the South East commercial insurance centre in Maidstone.

He has more than 20 years' insurance experience and has worked for Independent and Orion Insurance.

Allianz Cornhill Schemes
Allianz Cornhill Schemes has appointed Paul Crump as business manager.

He moves to Allianz Cornhill Schemes from Allianz Cornhill's broker division where he was commercial package manager. He brings with him many years of valuable industry experience gained at Independent, Zurich, Prudential and NZI.

Towergate
Towergate Underwriting Group has appointed Nigel Morris as managing director of Towergate's newly formed commercial schemes units.

He is a well-known figure in the London market having been managing director of both Towergate Stafford Knight and Byas Mosley UK. He previously held senior management positions with Sedgwick and Willis.

Cox
Cox Insurance has appointed Mark Woods as operations director of its branch network, insure-shop.

Woods will have full operational responsibility for insure-shop's personal lines offices and its commercial lines business, insure-commercial.

He joins insure-shop from Swinton Colonnade where he was responsible for branch operations in the South East.

Northern Marine Underwriters
Following the expansion of its Birmingham office, the Northern Marine announces the following promotions:-

Mike Ince becomes regional marine manager. Ince was responsible for establishing the Birmingham Office, which opened in 1997, having previously been marine manager at CIGNA/ACE.

Duncan McClean becomes cargo underwriting manager for the Midlands Region. McClean joined NMU in 2000, from CNA where he was marine manager.

Martin Pocock becomes marine equipment underwriting Manager. This role reflects Pocock's increasing involvement with offshore equipment risks, He has been with NMU since 1999, previously he was marine manager at Generali.

Nick Green becomes development underwriter. Green joined in 2000 from Allianz/Cornhill Marine, and was previously with Aon Marine.

Alwen Hough Johnson
One of the Lloyd's and London markets best-known retrocessional underwriters Peter Butler has joined Lloyd's broker Alwen Hough Johnson.

In his 20-year underwriting career, Butler has held senior non-marine underwriting positions with R J Kiln, PX Re and Hannover Re.

Aon
Miles Banks has been appointed director of claims for Aon.

Banks, who has been with Aon since 1998, with responsibility for the North American Reinsurance Claims Department, will be based in 10 Devonshire Square and will also undertake additional special projects within the chairman's office at Aon Limited.

Banks takes over the role from Ray Bassett who is taking a sabbatical and will return to Aon in 2004.

Lucas Fettes
Phil Worthington has been appointed business development manager for Lucas Fettes & Partners (Northern) in Manchester.

He has previously held a variety of senior positions within Norwich Union over a

22-year period and was also more recently previously responsible for successfully setting up Fusion Insurance Services in Scotland.

SBJ Group
SBJ Group has appointed Stuart Donnan and John Taylor as senior executive directors.

Steve Brown, Jill Dunmore and James Jacob have been appointed as divisional directors at Helix.

David Pryor and Debbie Purser join SBJ Limited as senior executive directors.

Jon Dixon and Greg Nicholls join the Stockport office of SBJ Benefits Consultants as divisional directors, while Garry Dark and Martin Kerwood join the London office as associate directors.

Also appointed as associate directors, Peter Jensen and Mark Oliver join the Bristol and Birmingham offices respectively.

David Wood joins SBJ Stephenson in Bristol as divisional director, professional.

GAB Robins Francexpert
GAB Robins Francexpert has appointed Philip Lapham international manager.

He will work closely with international co-ordination director Christophe Fournial, with liaison with the London and Lloyd's market.

He has more than 20 years' adjusting experience and was previously with Tyler & Company.

Capita Insurance Services
Capita Insurance Services has appointed two senior executives to its specialist services division. Samuel Bobo has been appointed as legal expenses underwriter and manager for the assistance business unit and David Gray has been appointed as London operations director for London Market Services.

Bobo was previously an associate director with Miller Insurance Services where he was responsible for business development. Gray has 28 years' experience and is rejoining Capita, having previously been manager of reinsurance operations for Eastgate Services.

Carmichaels
Paul Ryan joins Carmichaels' head office at Maidstone as an external loss adjuster

He started as a trainee in 1983 and has spent 20 years in loss adjusting.

ISS Ark & General
Disaster Recovery firm ISS Ark & General has recruited Tony Arbon as a new project manager in its southern office based at Portsmouth.

Wayne Stock has been appointed as new project supervisor at the same office.

Erinaceous Group
The Erinaceous Group, the parent company of Hanover Park Group, has appointed Nigel Turnbull and Lord Razzall to its board as non-executive chairman and non-executive director, respectively.

Turnbull, a former finance director of the Rank Group, was chairman of the Turnbull Committee on Corporate Risk.

Lord Razzall, former chief executive of City law firm Frere Cholmeley Bishoff, is head of Argonault Associates.

Robert Walters
Global recruitment consultancy Robert Walters has appointed James Smither as a consultant within the insurance and asset management division.

Smither previously worked for Robert Walters in corporate finance before taking time off to travel. He then moved to Walker Hamill where he was a consultant in the private equity team, before returning to Robert Walters.

Fleet team grows at Countrywide
Misys Insurance Management has appointed David MacFarlane to the role of Countrywide motor fleet sales technician.

He brings a wealth of fleet experience to the Countrywide team having spent 16 years at Bland Bankart .

Two internal promotions further extend Countrywide's in-house fleet team. Ruth Shirley becomes motor fleet sales technician and Sarah Caulcutt assistant sales technician.
