Cfs
Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) announced several CFS executive appointments from within the bank and CIS.

Haydn Griffith, currently general manager (administration) at CIS, becomes programme director of the CFS programme management group, while Charles McKeown will continue to lead the CIS Agency sales force, and will also assume responsibility for Co-operative Bank Financial Advisers (CBFA) - the independent financial adviser arm of the Co-operative Bank.

Assuming CFS roles from the current bank executive team are: Mick Firth, ICT director; Ken Lewis, resources director and John Marper, risk and compliance director.

Finian O'Boyle has been appointed chief operating officer of CIS, and Sheila Macdonald has been appointed chief operating officer of the Co-operative Bank.

Zurich Global Energy
Zurich Global Energy has promoted two executives in its London office: Jane Hayes, as head of the London office and Chris Knowles, as manager of exploration and production (E&P).

In her new position, Hayes will assume responsibility for all of Zurich Global Energy's London operations and will continue to serve as director of international property. Knowles will oversee London's E&P line of business.

Prior to joining Zurich, Hayes held positions at ACE Group, Charman Underwriting Agencies, and Posgate and Denby Agencies.

Knowles was formerly marine manager of the London Market for Zurich Global Energy. Previously, he specialised in marine risks at Commercial Union Assurance Company.

Hiscox
Hiscox has appointed Peter Welch to head up the scheme solutions business within its private client division.

As manager of the scheme solutions division, he will lead on Hiscox's white-label underwriting services to intermediaries.

Welch has been with Hiscox for 11 years and has been appointed to this new role following a period of two years as a director of Hiscox's online household insurance service, Hiscox Direct.

Brit Insurance Holdings has recruited a liability underwriting team specialising in employee & public liability and professional indemnity insurance. John Murphy is the underwriter and is joined by his entire team.

Murphy is currently the active underwriter of Lloyd's Syndicate 2525 and has more than 30 years' experience in the UK insurance market.

Lloyds TSB Insurance
Lloyds TSB Insurance announces three new high-level appointments at its head office in Newport, South Wales.

Simon Furnell is the new customer service director. Previously, he was head of development and implementation for the bank's extensive telephony services.

Neal Jones is the new customer management director. He has been with Lloyds TSB for 13 years, working in insurance since 1995, where he has held previous roles as IT and operations director.

Giles Cunningham is the new strategy director. Previously, he worked as director for planning and finance for Losango, the bank's consumer finance operation based in Rio de Janeiro.

John Eke and Partners
Corporate insurance broker and Unitas founder member John Eke and Partners has appointed Stephen Wood as chairman.

Wood joins John Eke from Aon Risk Services where he was deputy managing director of the UK corporate division and most recently managing director of strategic account management.

Bland Bankart
Bland Bankart has appointed Jason Mole as an account handler.

Based at the company's Birmingham office, Mole will be responsible for managing the corporate insurance programmes for clients in a wide range of industries.

Beachcroft Wansbroughs
National law firm Beachcroft Wansbroughs has appointed personal injury specialist Paul Davies to its national catastrophic injury unit.

He joins the firm's Bristol office with his team, Owen Rees and Chris Stevens.

Mills & Reeve
National law firm Mills & Reeve has appointed two new overseas lawyers,

Mark O'Sullivan and Katie Graham, to its London-based insurance group.

Professional indemnity specialist Mark O'Sullivan joins from Middletons Solicitors in Australia where he focused on commercial and insurance litigation, while Katie Graham spent three years in the litigation team of New Zealand law firm, Philips Fox, before working as an in-house solicitor for Credit & Business Services.

insurE-com
Insurance business system provider and internet specialist insurE-com has effected a number of management changes. Jim McGuinness, previously a non-executive director of insurE-com, assumes the role of chief executive officer. McGuinness has 15 years' insurance industry experience having previously held the post of financial and IT director at AXA Insurance, before setting up a consultancy business in 1999.

Chris Newman is appointed as chief operating officer. He has played a leading role in establishing insurE-com and has over 16 years' direct insurance experience.

Dan Francis is appointed as director of business development.

Allan Large is appointed as group marketing manager with Ian Carter appointed as group communications manager.

GAB Robins
Andy Knight has been appointed as GAB Robins' divisional manager for liability claims in the South-West.

He has a wide experience of all classes of liability work and will be based in the Southampton office.

Risk management

ALARM
ALARM - the national forum for risk management in the public sector - has elected Dave Fleetwood as its chairman.

Fleetwood, head of procurement and risk management at Sunderland City Council, was elected following the resignation of Ian Horwood last month.

Fleetwood, who joined ALARM in 1993, served as its chairman from 1998 - 2000, and then as its treasurer until this week.

HealthSure has appointed Nick Reeve as business consultant for the Northampton, East Anglia and London areas.

Medicash
Accountant Matthew Brown is joining Merseyside-based health cash plan provider Medicash in a senior management role.

He has previously worked for the NHS, the BBC and West Midlands Regional Arts Board.

ISS Ark & General
Disaster recovery and BCM specialist ISS Ark & General has appointed Chris Paterson as its Scotland regional manager.

He has been involved in disaster management work of all types after moving from a career in engineering.

Chase Zander
Chase Zander, niche head-hunters to the insurance sector for senior level IT and business change roles, has promoted Adam Tallamy to head of its insurance practice.

He previously headed up the information systems insurance, finance and banking function at the PSD Group.

Manson Warner Healthcare
Manchester-based private medical insurance consultant Manson Warner Healthcare has appointed Margaret Stoddard as senior consultant to further develop the company's client base in the North East & Scotland.

Stoddard gained valuable experience with The Healthscheme prior to joining Manson Warner Healthcare.
