Affiliated FM
Andrew Macleod has joined commercial property insurer Affiliated FM as a production underwriter responsible for managing broker relationships and underwriting new middle-market property business.

Prior to joining Affiliated FM, Macleod spent 12 years as a property underwriter with Independent Insurance before becoming a lead property underwriter with Royal & SunAlliance.

TT Club
TT Club has appointed Colin Lewin as chief operating officer, effective 1 October. Lewin, currently Asia Pacific regional manager for TT Club, will take over the operational management of underwriting and claims.

Lewin has been involved in the insurance and transport industry for more than 20 years, joining TT managers Thomas Miller in 1986 after six years in various operational roles in the transport sector.

He returns to London after about eight years building and running TT's Asia Pacific business based in Hong Kong.

Lewin's role will encompass the management of TT's three administrative regions and various centralised functions.

Succeeding Lewin as TT's director in Asia-Pacific is Andreas Mueller. As a qualified shipbroker, Mueller has worked extensively in the maritime industry in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He joined Thomas Miller and Co in 1987 as an underwriter for the TT Club.

GE Frankona Re
GE Frankona Re has appointed Brian Valentine as chief actuary for the UK life and health operation. He reports directly to chief executive Lee Lovett.

Valentine joined GE Frankona Re from Mercantile and General in 1997, prior to which he held positions with Crusader Insurance and Irish Life (UK), as well as a brief spell in consultancy with Jardine Arber.

Valentine is a member of the Institute of Actuaries and qualified as an actuary in 1985.

Zurich Financial Services
Zurich Financial Services has appointed Daniel Hofmann head of media relations to replace Max Gurtner who has left the company.

Wellington Underwriting
Katherine Letsinger has been appointed group finance director of Wellington Underwriting. She will take up the post on 16 September.

Letsinger will join the board of Wellington Underwriting plc and Wellington Underwriting Agencies. She qualified as a certified public accountant in the state of Florida and worked for 12 years for Price Waterhouse Insurance Services, where her experience covered auditing, consultancy and litigation services to US insurance companies. She was made a partner in 1995.

She joined General Cologne Re in 1996 as chief financial officer of the London direct operations, in which role she has had responsibility for finance and IT services to various global units.

Gerling Global General & Re
Ulrich Bley will succeed Stephan Knipper as managing director of Gerling Global General and Reinsurance in London. Knipper was appointed member of the executive board of Gerling Global Re, Cologne, in late March.

Bley has more than 20 years' extensive experience in Gerling Global Re. During his career with the company he has been in charge of treaty and facultative business with numerous countries and has extended his expertise by working with the London Market in a variety of areas.

BDML (Holdings)
Tony Lancaster has been appointed to the board of BDML (Holdings) as a non-executive director following his recent retirement from Groupama Insurances.

Lancaster has more than 40 years' experience in the insurance industry. He was chairman and chief executive at Groupama and has held such roles as board member of the ABI and president of the Insurance Institute of London. He was also on the council of the International Underwriting Association.

CIGNA
CIGNA announces the appointment of two key members of the international healthcare team.

Sheldon Kenton has been promoted to the European role of assistant vice president, sales and client management. He will be responsible for those activities in the UK, Germany, Benelux, Spain and Switzerland.

Mark Coleman has been appointed international sales director, UK. Previously, he held a senior consultancy role with Mercer Human Resources Consulting and worked for Bupa.

BROKERS

Allan Chapman & James
Specialist media broker Allan Chapman & James has appointed Louise Miller head of corporate sales to co-ordinate the company's future sales and marketing strategy both direct and through broker business partners.

Her appointment follows two years as new business sales manager following her move from Layton Blackham in 1999.

Romero Insurance Brokers
Jason Pullan is joining Romero Insurance Brokers as new business executive. Jannine Barnetts is also appointed as administration technician.

Commitments Protection
Commitments Protection, the creditor insurance arm of the Lawcost Group, announces the appointment Peter Westwood as national sales manager.

Westwood has more than 20 years' experience in insurance and financial services. He will be responsible for a team of 12 area managers located around the UK.

Bradstock
Bradstock announces that Maurice Curitz is joining the company as a senior non-marine insurance broker specialising in property and casualty reinsurance.

Curitz spent most of his career at Nelson Hurst where he was managing director of the reinsurance division. For the past four years he ran a reinsurance division at Bowood and Partners.

LEGAL

Camberford Law
Andy Morrison has joined the team at Camberford Law as a senior account executive. He joins from Hanover Park Group.

His main responsibilities are to undertake research and development, investigate new scheme potential and enhance existing schemes' products and services.

Hextalls
Hextalls, the City law practice specialising primarily in insurance, reinsurance and employment law, has appointed four associates.

Personal injury lawyers Leanda Fielding and Mark Skinner, insurance and commercial disputes lawyer Justin Clayden and employment lawyer Julian Yew have been appointed associates.

DISASTER RECOVERY

Chem-Dry UK
Chem-Dry UK, the claims management company for accidental damage, fire and flood claims, has appointed Mike Hibberd as technical and quality manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Hibberd, who is an ACII, has more than ten years claims handling experience. He joins from Ashworth-Mairs Group in Glasgow, where he was a loss adjuster and has previously worked for Capita McLarens, Dundee and CGNU, Dundee.

Phoenix IT Services
Phoenix IT Services has appointed Andy Haley as its new corporate sales director. He will be responsible for increasing new business in the financial services market.

Haley has more than 12 years' experience, most recently as sales direcor with Nextra, where he spent six years. Previous to this he was sales manager for Olivetti.

OTHER

Rubicon
The Rubicon Corporation announces the appointment of Victoria Hardy as director of the recently formed Rubicon Dynamics group.

Hardy joins from Cims, part of the Cedant Group, where she spent two years developing marketing strategies for European banking clients. Prior to this she spent seven years at Lloyds TSB working in a variety of product development and marketing roles.
