Gerling Global Re
Gerling Global Re has appointed Geoff Banks to head up a newly formed unit in London to be known as central operations.

Banks has 27 years of market experience and joined Gerling in 1991. Ryan Mather, who is promoted to property underwriter within the treaty reinsurance team, will succeed him.

Mather joined the company in 1999 from Chartwell Re and has extensive experience of underwriting in both the company and Lloyd's environments.

Brokers

Kyle Insurance
Kyle Insurance has appointed Martin Lane as partner.

He has more than ten years' underwriting experience.

Linaker (Western)
Linaker (Western) has expanded its Bristol operation with the appointment of two new members to the management team.

Chris Everett has been appointed to spearhead the company's new business division in the South West. Everett has 13 years' industry experience working for two leading UK insurers.

Mark Hillier has been appointed as manager of the company's property management insurance service, Flatsure, which provides insurance for purpose-built residential accommodation. Hillier, who has worked for Linaker (Western) for the last five years, was previously employed by a leading UK insurer in a claims management role.

Wissenbach Insurance Services
Graham Hill has joined Wissenbach Insurance Services to head its new motor sport division.

Hill has previously worked at Marsh and has more than ten years' experience in the insurance industry.

MCE
Karen Robinson has been appointed as financial controller at personal lines broker MCE.

Robinson joined accountancy 17 years ago at Grant Thorton's where she was senior accountant, more recently she was senior accountant at a national retail group.

Becketts
Jeff Alcock has been promoted to risk control manager at Beckett Risk Management.

He has been with the firm for five years as a commercial insurance new business sales executive, and has more than 16 years' experience in the insurance industry.

Lincinsure
Lincinsure, a subsidiary of Henderson Insurance Group, has appointed Ian Williams as managing director.

He has more than 16 years' experience in the insurance market and rejoins the Henderson Insurance Group to head Lincinsure - the company's new subsidiary.

Christine Turner and John Drewnicki join Lincinsure and will continue to oversee a new division that will be called Stamford Insurance Brokers.

Contractsure
Graham Parkinson joins Contractsure as director and Pat Corrigan as an associate director.

Bringing with them a wealth of experience in the construction industry, they will be servicing existing clients and driving forward new business. Diane Newbound and Louise Ham also join Contractsure as broking technicians.

PIMS SCA
PIMS SCA has appointed James Howland Jackson to its board of directors.

He has more than 17 years' experience and has worked for Sedgwicks, Bain Hogg Insurance Brokers and Euclidian.

Legal

Scott Rees & Co
Scott Rees & Co has appointed a new associate to join the firm's management team.

Damian Rigby, who was recruited to the firm in October 1999, specialises in all aspects of personal injury law and joins four other associates who were appointed for the first time last year.

Badhams
Christine Winter has joined insurance defendant firm Badhams as a partner. She was previously an equity partner with solicitors BLM.

Winter is a leading high-value personal injury lawyer.

She successfully acted in Britain's first passive smoking case (Sparrow v. St Andrews Homes 1998) and was secretary of Manchester's Medico-Legal Society.

She will lead a multi-track team based at Badhams' Croydon office. .

Insurers

Henmans

Henmans has appointed Julia Iball as its new managing partner. She is a partner in the firm's personal injury department.

She joined the firm in 1985.

Zurich Public Private Solutions
Robert Tucker has been appointed as head of Zurich Public Private Solutions.

In leading the new service, he will be responsible for developing Zurich's PPP-related business.

Tucker joins from Willis, where he was head of global PPP. He has 28 years' insurance industry experience, and has been involved in PFI/PPP since its introduction in the early 1990s.

Fortis
Fortis Insurance has appointed Paul Chaplain as personal lines underwriting manager.

He has more than 20 years' experience in the industry and has worked at Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA), Bishopsgate Insurance, AGF Insurance and NIG where he was managing director at Finsure Premium Finance.
