John Meredith joins the BWP Group as group deputy managing director.
Ian Pollard, David Green and Debbie Bateman also join the company.

Chaucer
Chaucer Holdings has appointed Robert V Deutsch as non-executive director with immediate effect.

Deutsch is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Chicago-based CNA Financial Corporation and its insurance companies. Prior to joining CNA, he was an executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief actuary for Executive Risk, an insurer based in Connecticut, as well as a member of its board of directors.

In addition, Robert George has been appointed as projects manager; Roy Alexander has been appointed IT director for Chaucer Syndicates and Andrew Burgess has become group HR manager and HR director for Syndicate 587.

BROKER
Primary
Primary Insurance Group has appointed Jonathan Davey as chief executive of Primary Broker Services, a new subsidiary.

He joins Primary after seven years at Sirius Group, where he was managing director and founder of MasterPlan, the insurance schemes marketing business, and director of insurance distribution.

Nick Wright has been appointed as head of business development. He joins from Independent Insurance. Nigel Cookson joins as business development manager. He previously worked at Marsh UK where he was a tenants' contents schemes manager.

Bollington Group
The Bollington Group announces three new appointments:

Rebecca King joins as an accounts clerk. Jason Gray and Janette Pilling have taken up positions in the motor trade division.

Foster Leighton
Foster Leighton, the Exeter-based insurance broking and risk management group, announces that Rod Fry has been appointed director.

Lycetts
Frank Nicholson has been appointed non-executive director of Lycetts. Formerly he was managing director of Vaux Breweries.

HML Marketing
Neil Hayden joins HML Marketing as area manager designate covering the northwest of England. He joins from Simpson and Parsons Insurance Consultants and has more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry.

BP Marsh & Co
BP Marsh and Co has appointed Jonathan Newman to the company's board of directors. Francis de Zulueta also joins the board of directors.

Vizards Wyeth
Stephen Byass has become a partner at Vizards Wyeth. He joined Vizards Staples & Bannisters as a solicitor in the liability insurance group, specialising in industrial disease and stress claims.

Charles O'Brien and Sophia Reed of the liability insurance group have been promoted to associates, as has Steven Ellis of the private client group.

Hill Dickinson
Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has appointed Kirsty Shenton as head of marketing.

Shenton joins the firm from Andersen in Manchester where, as marketing manager, she was responsible for corporate marketing.

Prior to her role at Andersen she spent four years at DTZ Debenham Tie Leung as northern region PR and marketing manager.

Crutes
Graeme Whitfield joins Crutes as a paralegal and will continue to study the ILEX legal executive course at the same time. He will work in the firm's general insurance litigation department in its Newcastle office.

LOSS ADJUSTERS
GAB Robins
Paul Ritchie has been appointed as area operations manager for GAB Robins' London office. He will be responsible for co-ordinating the city property team and the London Market team. He joined GAB Robins in 1991.

OTHERS
Equitas
Ian Agnew has been appointed non-executive director of Equitas Holdings. Agnew began his career in the Lloyd's Market in 1962. He has served as deputy chairman of Lloyd's.

Wheelies Direct
Wheelies Direct has recently promoted Mike Isaac to the position of claims floor manager. Issac was a former manager at M&P Cycles, a company bought by Wheelies Direct last year.

Claimsplus
Claimsplus announces the appointment of Gary Vickery as head of supply management.

Vickery was formerly the head of process development for Claimsplus. He joined the company in 1995.

Marlborough Stirling
Adrian Guttridge has joined the operational board of Marlborough Stirling. He brings with him more than 18 years' experience in information technology, the majority of which he has spent managing the development of systems. He joins Marlborough Stirling, having spent six years at Accenture, the last three as a director within its insurance practice. He has recently held several senior roles within PruTech, the IT co-sourcing arrangement between Accenture and Prudential.

Enterprise Internet Services
Enterprise Internet Services announces the appointment of Neil Flynn to the newly created position of sales director. He has more than 20 years' experience with blue chip organisations. Most recently, he ran his own consultancy - Quadrant 4 - for six years.
