Julia Mavropoulos, claims director of International Transport Intermediaries Club (ITIC), has retired.Mavropoulos's career in the shipping industry began in the 1970s when she worked for a Piraeus-based firm. When she returned to London in the 1980s she joined the management company of TIM, one of the predecessors of ITIC. Since then she has been an underwriter and claims handler for ITIC. Aegis Managing Agency has appointed Stuart Davies as managing director. Davies has worked in insurance for 16 years. He was most recently operations director at Highway Insurance Holdings. Prior to this, he worked as claims director at Highway, finance director at Ockham Personal Insurance Agency and finance manager at Syndicate 37. Davies said: "In a changing and increasingly regulated market place, Aegis is a unique global energy operator, whose mutual status gives it a very different approach.
