A Birmingham-based recruitment agency has taken out £100,000 of insurance cover against accidents sustained "on or around" the photocopier.

A Birmingham-based recruitment agency must be employing particularly accident-prone staff.

The company has taken the unusual step of finding £100,000 of insurance cover for permanent total disability to it 71 staff, sustained "on or around" the photocopier.

The cover, for a twelve-month period, began on 6 December 2001, perfectly timed for those notorious office Christmas party mishaps that occur on photocopiers.

The insurance cover is provided by Goodfellows, one of the companies belonging to insurance innovator Simon Burgess.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
