Specialist insurance and reinsurance underwriter GoshawK Insurance Holdings has announced a reshuffle at board and senior management level.

It is the first stage of its operational review.

David Hooker, chairman since 1996, will step down at the end of the year to be replaced by a candidate chosen by the company's appointment committee.

Hooker is credited with transforming GoshawK from a small Lloyd's agency into a listed insurance group.

Russell Brooke is to join GoshawK's reinsurance business, GoshawK Re, in Bermuda, as chief executive and chief underwriting officer. Brooke joins from ACE Tempest Re and before that Willis Group in London.

And group underwriting director Andrew Gammell is stepping down from his day-to-day underwriting responsibilities for Goshawk Re to focus on the underwriting of Syndicate 102.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
